Theoretical Criminology in the Journal of Criminal Investigation and Criminology
Keywords:
criminological theories, theoretical criminologyAbstract
This article presents an overview of the works on theoretical criminology, criminological theories and the (self) reflection of criminology as a science published in the Slovene Journal of Criminal Investigation and Criminology from 1959 to the present. The articles dealing with these topics are divided into three selected periods. This very brief overview of the topics and the individual authors shows that cautious and critical confrontation with particular criminological theories prevailed. It is difficult to find authors perfectly accepting only one theoretical view. During the first period some authors emphasized their critically qualified socialist worldviews. Today, the impression is that everyone is following his own path both in terms of theoretical emphasis and in the selection of topics. However, the humanistic view of crime policy still prevails.
